A collection of works from "weber," a nomadic vintage clothing store based in Japan. This book is the first archive book, celebrating the 4th anniversary of "weber" on April 1, 2022, and features 256 carefully selected vintage T-shirts collected to date.

This book is not just a catalog; the interior pages are mainly monochrome, arranged in an orderly fashion with objective information like a dictionary. In contrast, the cover is colorful and iconic, designed to function not only as a book but also as an object with a strong presence, making the contrast very striking.

The designs include a wide range of artists and brands such as Bruce Weber, Barbara Kruger, Andy Warhol, Yoko Ono, Raymond Pettibon, Eames Office, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Emporio Armani, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Stussy. This work, which navigates between tribute and parody, likens vintage T-shirts to Marcel Duchamp's "readymades," playing with the idea that their meaning changes when viewed in different contexts. This catalog context encourages viewers to reconsider the socio-cultural value of T-shirts and the role of visual culture in the modern era.

The content consists of two parts: a section featuring photographs of 256 carefully selected vintage T-shirts, many of which are being unveiled for the first time by "weber," categorized by genre, and a section providing bilingual information for each T-shirt. It also includes special essays by Sarah Andelman, formerly of "colette," editor Kunichi Nomura, and weber's Jin Ikeda and Kazuki Hatanaka.

The book design is by the UK-based design unit "OK-RM."
