Previously owned early 1900s cross-stitch sampler framed. “True friendship is a Gordian knot which angel hands have tied” Frame is brown and measures 11.5” X 15.5”. The Gordian knot refers to to a complex knot that was a challenge to untie. Alexander the Great cut through it which was seen as mental genius. This piece is extremely old and in good condition for its age.
