Front Bumper and Skid Plate, Black, for the Traxxas Sledge
The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate for the Traxxas Sledge is a unique design that works with the Traxxas body mounting mechanism. Traxxas designed the body mounting system to move forward instead of rearward. Because it moves forward by well over 1" (25mm), it severely limits bumper design. However, RPM engineers found a way to incorporate a fully functioning bumper with the Traxxas body mounting system.
How did they do it? First, RPM eliminated the stock bumper and replaced it with a hinge pin retainer, since realistically, that's all the stock bumper really is. Next, they eliminated the stock skid plate in favor of a wider, longer and more protective skid. Lastly, they bolted a unique bumper to the front of the skid plate. The RPM Front Bumper and Skid Plate for the Traxxas Sledge sits below the body, which allows the body mounting system full range of motion, yet the Sledge finally has some tough, RPM front end protection.
